    Description

    These
Jan. 1, 1942, Commonwealth of the Philippines, E
mergency Treasury notes were printed by the Currency Board in Cagayan Province after the Japanese invaded and occupied the Philippines at the beginning of WW2. Until they ran out of them, they affixed the corresponding Philippine Islands Revenue stamps to these notes. The denominations went from 10 Centavos to 200 Pesos.
All of these notes are very scarce and generally, very hard to find.
These 2 Peso notes have the serial numbers 20,001 to 21,474, so only 1,474 were made.
    This note has
    Stamp
    6491163 and Serial Number 21317.
    It
definitely shows signs of being in a war zone, with a center tear and the paper is starting to split apart, with some string keeping it together. The paper color has faded from the expected white to a brown color, but the stamp is still the expected red color. But, I think it's still in a collectible condition.
Please take a look at the photos to see for yourself.
