    Description

World War II Philippine Guerrilla Notes
    . 2 sets of 9
    notes each, there are nine different—10 c, 25 c, 50 c, 1 peso (two types), 5 pesos, 10 pesos (two types) & 20 pesos.
Issued by the American allies fighting the Japanese occupation troops in the Philippines.
This crude currency financed their operations and kept the hope of freedom alive.
If these notes could talk, they would tell of men struggling against terrific odds with uncommon courage and fortitude against a ruthless enemy.
Printed on whatever paper was available, often with the enemy close on their trail, these notes bought food and villager’s help until General MacArthur’s return.
