  • Condition: I would grade this banknote as nice extremely fine or better. The note shows light circulation with light folds and some ripples. The note is intact with squared corners having minimum rounding. It is lightly soiled and has some staining especially in the left margin of the front. The note retains quite a bit of its original stiffens and crispiness. It does have some bumps at the corners but the edges are intact with no significant roughness. The note has no graffiti, no pinholes, no tears, and no splits. The colors of the note are clear and bright. The overall appearance of the note is really nice and would look good in your collection.     Description:
    A nice extremely fine or much better banknote from the Philippines. This is a Japanese Government Issue during the Japanese occupation of the Philippines. The front of the note is black on light blue and tan and orange background. The note has the image of the Rizal Monument to the right of the front. The back is purple on green underprint. This is the 1944 issue and shows the denomination on the front and back. It has no signatures, but has a serial number in red on the front. This particular note has the serial number 0055436 and is series {24}. The note has a faint watermark showing a banana tree. Please carefully review the scan as it is part and parcel of our description.
